Memorandum
Description
A memorandum, commonly known in the modern period as a memo, is a document containing a summary of or brief notes about a specific incident, whether that be a disagreement, business meeting, law, or other occasion. In the context of the Atlas of a Medieval Life project, the memoranda generally concern themselves with the day-to-day operations of the Hereford Cathedral, such as its role in mediating disputes or engaging in commerce. Because of their common use and the wide variety of incidents they record, memoranda are often used in scholarship on medieval life and laws.
