Description

The Register of Simon Montacute, Bishop of Ely, contains the documents relating to Simon Montacute as Bishop of Ely from 1337 until his death in 1345. These documents relate to the administration of the bishopric and include episcopal acts, letters, and more. The original documents are held in Cambridge University Library in a combined volume with those of his successor, Lisle, and have not been digitized or transcribed. In 1891, then-current Bishop of Ely Alwyne Compton printed a summary of the documents relating to the diocese, and a scan of his book is available online.
